An open casting call has been set for the third annual Kristin Chenoweth Master Class event. Students in grades 9-12 and at the collegiate level can audition at two separate events. Auditions will be held in Oklahoma City on Monday, April 25, while others can audition Saturday, April 30 at Kristin’s namesake theatre at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center.

“Ms. Chenoweth has a heart for arts in education, as cemented with the formation of the Kristin Chenoweth Arts & Education Fund,” said Mark Frie, Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center executive director. “To be able to perform and be critiqued by Kristin herself is such an honor for the lucky students who get a slot. And for us, we are so grateful that Kristin takes the time to work with young performing artists, the next generation of stage and screen stars.”

Auditions in Oklahoma City will be held April 25 at Oklahoma City University at the Wimberley Recital Hall starting at 5 p.m. Auditions at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center are set for April 30 starting at 9 a.m. Any student who will be in grades 9-12 or in college in the 2016-2017 school year are eligible to audition.

Students must prepare two 32-measure contrasting musical theatre pieces with marked sheet music. There is no acapella singing or recorded track auditions permitted. An accompanist will be provided. A performance resume and headshot are also requested.

“I am so excited to partner with the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center to help raise awareness for the arts in the city I call home,” said Chenoweth. “Giving back to the community is a privilege and I feel most fortunate to be able to support educational and artistic opportunities in Broken Arrow.”

The third annual Kristin Chenoweth Master Class concert will take place Tuesday, September 6, at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center, where the students will share the stage with Kristin and perform in front of a live audience. Ticket information will be available later this summer.
